Preservation policy

Digital preservation

JoSME uses the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to create a distributed archiving system among collaborating libraries, allowing them to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.

The journal uses the persistent identifiers DOI and ORCID.

In addition to the usual multiple and versioned backup procedures, the journal's content is stored on the Zenodo server community.

2 Interoperability protocols

The journal implements the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), a mechanism for harvesting metadata from repositories.
